The Return of Mares 2011 contains the 2011 coverings and returns recorded in the General Stud Book and the Non-Thoroughbred Register. This Return of Mares is the third supplement to Volume 46 of the General Stud Book and contains Volume 38 of the Non-Thoroughbred Register in the yellow page section of the book.
Of particular interest to the industry in the current economic climate, the breeding statistics provided are collated as at 30th September 2011. The final year round up will appear in the Return of Mares Supplement 2011 which will be published in early February 2012. Purchasers of the Return of Mares 2011 will be sent the Supplement and the Stud Book Fact Book in February 2012.
New to this Return of Mares is the inclusion of multiple coverings in the main body of the book for the first time. Previously only single and double coverings were published. DNA parentage verification determines which of the sires recorded as covering a given mare qualifies as the sire of any resulting foal.
